The history of Ladakh through its fortresses and its other archeological remains by Quentin Devers, PhD Ecole Pratique des hautes Etudes, Paris.
Behind this title, I aim to present the evolution of the fortifications and their location. This would help to better understand the material remains behind the analysis of ancient roads that I shall present. Then in the light of these routes and the location of other remains, Buddhists among others, I shall reconsider certain aspects of the history of Ladakh and its regional dynamics.
Formally, the visual support of the first part will be mainly photos taken on the ground field, allowing the audience to see for itself the nature of the remains and their environment. Maps will mainly support the second part. The third one will also be illustrated with maps on which the locations of the various remains will appear.
